Testimonial

“We had an amazing party at Gauntlet for my daughter's 7th birthday. She and her friends had a great time meeting all the birds and animals, they all overcame any fear they had handling the birds and enjoyed every minute of the two hour party. What a great place to have a birthday party! The staff were all very friendly and informative and they organised everything, all I had to bring was the cake. Thank you for everything and we will be back again soon.”

Testimonials from schools

"I just had to write to say a big thank you for a wonderful class visit on Wednesday. Both children and adults had a fantastic time. We felt very relaxed in the capable hands of your staff. Despite the cold, we were all smiling and thank you for adjusting the activities to account for the weather! We felt the schedule was well balanced with time in the barn and time to roam independently. Thanks once again, I'm keeping my fingers crossed we can return in the future!"

Bollington Cross Primary School, Macclesfield

"Lots of opportunities to see, touch, watch and fly birds. Thank you to all involved."

Gauntlet Birds of Prey visits to your school

We’ll bring Gauntlet Birds of Prey to your classroom…

Our hour long hands-on and interactive flying demonstration includes a variety of birds: owls, hawks, a vulture and occasionally something a little more unusual, plus a cheeky ferret! If you have key stage topics you would like us to work in to our visit please let us know. The children will be able to:

  • Feel the breeze as a bird swoops low overhead
  • See and hear how important and vital vultures are to our ecosystem
  • Some of them will get the chance to slip on a gauntlet glove and fly one of the birds

For the visit we require a classroom, school hall or sports hall for the hour.

Cost for one hour demonstration/presentation for up to 60 children is £180.00 (inclusive of VAT), plus travel expenses.
For every group of over 60 there is a £3.00 (inclusive of VAT) charge per child. If you would like us to accommodate a larger number of children we can arrange to do more than one one hour session. Chargeable at the hourly rate above. For further information or to book your visit please call 01565 754 419 or click here to contact us.

Risk Assessment information is available upon request.

Gauntlet Birds of Prey visits to your youth group

We have been working with youth groups since we opened our park back in 1996.

Our interactive and hands-on demonstrations and presentations offer youth groups an interesting, fun and educational evening.

We visit all types of activity groups from Scouting and Guiding, community youth groups and after school clubs, to name but a few. We travel to your location with a variety of Gauntlet’s residents including: owls, hawks, a vulture and a cheeky ferret for an hour long session. During the hour your group will be able to:

  • See the birds up close as well as watch them fly,
  • They can stroke the ferret
  • We’ll always ask for a few brave volunteers to slip on the gauntlet glove and fly the birds themselves

All we require is an indoor area – a Scout/Guides hut, school hall or church hall for example and some willing volunteers!

Alternatively your group can visit the park for a change to your usual group meeting! For further information or to book your visit please call 01565 754 419 or click here to contact us.
