5 Facts about vultures:

  1. A group of vultures can be referred to as a flock, venue, volt, or a committee.
  2. New World vultures don’t sing, like many other species of bird. They can only perform simple sounds, such as grunts and hisses.
  3. Thermals help vultures reach incredible heights, most of which would be deadly to other species of birds.
  4. A group of vulture feeding around a carcass are called a wake, and when the birds are in flight formation, they are known as a kettle.
  5. Vultures eat animals that have died in the wild. Without them, these animals would rot and smell.
